Hadassah Muthoka
Research Consultant
Hadassah Muthoka is a Research Consultant at Motivate Lab. Coming from an immigrant family, she utilizes her experiences and the experiences of those around her to inform her research and aid in tackling inequity in academic and everyday spaces. Her interests include utilizing research to address systemic and systematic barriers contributing to performance in minoritized, particularly Black, students, as well as sentiments of belonging and equitable opportunities for such groups. At Motivate, she has worked on the Mindset Transfer: Camp to School project, is a part of the Motivate Lab website team, and is currently a part of the research team working to remove barriers to success in community college math courses and the research team to utilize student voices to address racial injustice in college settings.
Hadassah is a 2020 graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Politics with a concentration in Foreign Affairs and a minor in Spanish. In her free time, you can find her working to abolish white supremacist systems, watching a new Netflix series, indulging in good food and traveling to new places.
