  • Motivate Lab is driven to improve people's lives through rigorous motivation research. We focus on understanding the mindsets and motivations that promote learning, growth, and well-being. These insights are used to develop evidence-based solutions that can be applied across educational and extracurricular contexts.

The Navigate Project, funded by the Gates Foundation, is a collective of educators, advocates, funders, and researchers dedicated to developing and adapting evidence-demonstrated practices for supporting learning mindsets in the postsecondary access and success space.

  • The Motivating Futures Course aims to equip all professionals who support students throughout their education and career planning journey with a toolkit of learning mindset-supportive strategies and resources. This includes advising staff, counselors, educators, program leads, and other professionals, K-12 and beyond. The course is designed with systems-level change in mind, meaning professionals at all levels within an organization will benefit from the course, whether engaging in direct student service, developing curriculum, designing staff training, or even making program-wide decisions in positions of leadership.

While we welcome any individual to participate in the course to improve their practice, we find that program-wide changes are most effective when multiple team members take the course together in order to collaborate on the integration of new learning and practices.
